Recommended 3-Visit Seasonal Calendar

• Visit 1: Late October (Oct 20 – Oct 31)

  • Focus: Early leaf drop (maple, ash, birch, locust) and perimeter fence clearing.

  • Objective: Prevents heavy layers from matting down under early autumn rains and choking cool-season turf.

• Visit 2: Mid-November (Nov 10 – Nov 20)

  • Focus: Peak volume clearing across the entire turf surface, landscaping beds, and hardscapes.

  • Objective: Removes the main bulk of fallen foliage before sub-freezing night temperatures lock wet leaves to the ground.

• Visit 3: Post-Thanksgiving Final Cutoff (Nov 27 – Dec 6)

  • Focus: Late-dropping pin oaks, bed blowouts, and final turf winterization mow/scalp.

  • Objective: Clean finish before the first sustained snowfall and prior to the municipal yard-waste pickup deadline (most Macomb County DPW routes stop bagged compost collection the first week of December).

Seasonal Contract Execution Checklist

1. Payment Structure: Bill 50% upon signing in September/early October and 50% automatically on November 1st (or 100% upfront with a 5% prepayment incentive).

2. Disposal Definition: Specify whether leaves are being blown to the curb for municipal vacuuming, bagged in paper yard-waste bags for city collection, or physically hauled offsite on an enclosed trailer.

3. Snow Trigger Clause: Include a contract stipulation stating that if a persistent snowfall (1+ inch) occurs before Visit 3, the final visit automatically rolls into a priority Spring Cleanup credit to protect operational margins.

4. Hardscape & Bed Boundaries: State clearly whether clearing out deep ornamental landscape beds, rock gardens, and window wells is included in the base flat rate or billed as an add-on at $45 to $65 per crew labor hour
